Those... Children (O... Çocukları) (translated)

O... Çocukları is a 2008 Turkish drama film directed by Murat Saraçoğlu from a screenplay by Sırrı Süreyya Önder. Set in the aftermath of the 12 September 1980 military coup, it follows a married couple wanted as political fugitives who decide to flee abroad but cannot take their children with them. They entrust them to Mehtap Anne, a woman who has left sex work herself yet now cares for the children of women still in it.

Against the oppressive atmosphere of the period, the film dwells on motherhood, childhood and social prejudice, blending drama with psychological elements. Starring Demet Akbağ, Özgü Namal, Sarp Apak, Altan Erkekli and İpek Tuzcuoğlu, it ranked as the eighth most successful film at the Turkish box office in 2008.
