The Notebook (Not Defteri) (translated)

Not Defteri (The Notebook) is a Turkish youth television series produced by Avşar Film and broadcast on FOX in 2014. Written by Alphan Dikmen and Başak Angigün, it features Fatih Al and Ebru Özkan in the leading roles.

The story follows Mahir Soysal, a literature teacher transferred to a high school in Dersaadet, a tough neighborhood of Istanbul. There, the students are split into two rival groups led by Egemen and Ufuk, and anger and violence shape daily life. Mahir tries to calm the feud with tolerance and patience while also attempting to reconnect with Zeynep, the daughter he has not seen for years, as fights and motorcycle races keep escalating the tension. The supporting cast includes Ekin Mert Daymaz, Beste Kökdemir, Merve Oflaz, Emir Özden, and Gonca Cilasun. Following complaints filed with the broadcasting regulator RTÜK, the series was pulled off the air on 2 July 2014 after its thirteenth episode.
