Mannaja
Mannaja is a 1977 Italian spaghetti Western directed by Sergio Martino and regarded as one of the last significant entries in the genre, alongside Enzo Castellari's Keoma. Maurizio Merli stars in the lead role of Blade, a hatchet-wielding drifter, with John Steiner, Sonja Jeannine, Donald O'Brien, Philippe Leroy and Martine Brochard in other central roles. The screenplay was written by Sauro Scavolini, and the score by brothers Guido and Maurizio De Angelis shifts between Italian Western ballads, contemporary pop, synth-driven suspense themes and 1970s progressive rock. Released under various titles abroad, including A Man Called Blade, the film earned roughly 750 million Italian lire at the domestic box office.
