Malkoçoğlu

Malkoçoğlu is a 1966 Turkish historical adventure film and the opening entry in the long-running Malkoçoğlu series, based on the popular comic-strip hero. It was directed by Süreyya Duru, with a screenplay credited to Ayhan Başoğlu and Remzi Jöntürk.

The story follows the frontier commander Malkoçoğlu Ali Bey (Cüneyt Arkın), sent by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror to settle a succession struggle that erupted after the death of a Serbian king. Facing treacherous courtiers scheming to install a hostile prince on the throne, Malkoçoğlu and his companion Ejder (Yılmaz Köksal) take on the conspirators. The film's popularity turned the character into a long-running screen series. The supporting cast includes Tuncer Necmioğlu as İshak Paşa and Remzi Jöntürk as Alyoşa.
