Les malheurs d'Alfred (The Troubles of Alfred) is a 1972 French comedy directed by Pierre Richard, who also plays the lead role. It opened in France on 1 March 1972 and stands as Richard's second feature as a director. He stars opposite Anny Duperey and Pierre Mondy, with a supporting cast that includes Jacques Monod, Jean Carmet, Mario David and Paul Le Person. The score was composed by Vladimir Cosma. Produced by Gaumont, the film was released abroad under various titles, such as Alfred, die Knallerbse in Germany, Las desgracias de Alfredo in Spain and Ghinionistul in Romania. The screenplay is credited to Pierre Richard together with Yves Robert and André Ruellan.
