Krala Mektup

Krala Mektup (Norwegian: Brev til Kongen) is a 2014 Norwegian drama film directed by Hişam Zaman. The screenplay was written by Hişam Zaman and Mehmet Aktaş together, the film was produced by Zaman and Alan R. Milligan, and the music was composed by David Reyes. A co-production between Norway and the United Arab Emirates, the film has most of its dialogue in Kurdish, while Norwegian, English and Persian are also used. Set in Norway, the story follows five asylum seekers who are allowed to leave the refugee camp where they are staying and spend a single day in Oslo. The cast includes Ali Bag Salimi, Zheer Durhan, Nazmi Kırık, Hassan Dimirci, Ivan Anderson, Derin Kader and Raouf Saraj. The film won Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress at the 2014 Amanda Awards, was named Best Nordic Film at the 2014 Göteborg Film Festival, received the FIPRESCI Prize at the Lecce European Film Festival and won a special mention for Best Film at the 2014 Dubai International Film Festival.
