A blend of slapstick and dark humour, the film is carried by its central character, played by Annie Girardot, and was shot at the Billancourt Studios in Paris.
Running about 80 minutes, the picture also features Jean Carmet, Bernard Blier, Jean-Pierre Darras, Dominique Zardi and Robert Dalban. In 1972 Audiard reunited part of the cast for the similarly titled Elle cause plus... elle flingue, though that film tells a different story with different characters.
