To Kill a Cop
To Kill a Cop (original French title: Pour la peau d'un flic) is a 1981 French crime thriller that marked Alain Delon's debut as a director, the first of only two films he would ever helm. Delon also stars in the lead role as the private detective Choucas. The picture is adapted from Jean-Patrick Manchette's novel Que d'os!.
Produced in France by Adel Productions and distributed by UGC, the film opened on 9 September 1981. It proved popular with French audiences, drawing well over two million admissions at the box office. The supporting cast includes Jean-Pierre Darras, Dominique Zardi and Henri Attal. In Germany, it premiered on 13 August 1982 under the title Rette deine Haut, Killer.
