Diamonds

Diamanti (Diamonds) is a 2024 Italian comedy-drama co-written and directed by Ferzan Özpetek. The story unfolds in both the present day and the 1970s, following the lives and loves of a group of women who work together at a major costume company. Two sisters, Luisa and Gabriella, run a dazzling fashion house in 1970s Rome, serving Oscar-winning costume designers as clients. Colors, fabrics and stitching form the fabric of the film's world, but within this tightly knit community of seamstresses many personal dramas play out, and despite their differences the women develop a deep bond with one another. The ensemble cast includes Luisa Ranieri, Jasmine Trinca, Kasia Smutniak and Nicole Grimaudo. Released in Italy at the end of 2024, the film became a major box-office success there, drawing large audiences, and opened in Turkey in October 2025 under the title Elmaslar.
