Bits and Pieces (Il cielo è sempre più blu)

Bits and Pieces, released in Italy as Il cielo è sempre più blu, is a 1996 Italian comedy-drama directed by Antonello Grimaldi from a script by Daniele Cesarano and produced by Fandango. Running about 90 minutes, it is told in episodes and gathers several short stories that all play out within a single day in Rome. Its title comes from the song Ma il cielo è sempre più blu by Rino Gaetano, a singer-songwriter from Crotone.

Because it is built as an anthology, the film has no single protagonist. A large ensemble plays people from different corners of the city. The cast includes Monica Bellucci, Margherita Buy, Iaia Forte, Roberto Citran, Lorenza Indovina, Asia Argento, Dario Argento, Francesca Neri, Silvio Orlando, Claudio Bisio, Margaret Mazzantini, Luca Barbareschi and Antonio Catania.

It was shot in Rome in 1995 and opened in Italian cinemas the following February.
