The Bitter Cherry (Acı Kiraz)

Bitter Cherry is a 2020 Turkish drama film directed by Serdar Akar, released on February 28, 2020. Running about 94 minutes, the film tells a story set in Bitola, North Macedonia.

At its heart is a father fighting to save his son from leukemia, and around this struggle the narrative weaves together intersecting lives and characters. The ensemble features Erdal Beşikçioğlu, Ertan Saban, Belçim Bilgin, Bülent Şakrak and Halil Ergün, alongside Macedonian performers such as Luran Ahmeti, Bedia Begovska and Sara Klimoska.
