Bülent Şakrak — Biography

Bülent Şakrak was born on 26 August 1977 in Istanbul; he began on stage in 1996 with youth and children's plays at Kartal Sanat İşliği theatre, then enrolled in the theatre department of Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1998. After working with the Müjdat Gezen Theatre and Yayla Sanat Merkezi, he joined the Kent Oyuncuları ensemble from 2004, appearing in productions such as Dying For It, The 39 Steps, Dealer's Choice and The Lieutenant of Inishmore; in 2016 he brought The 39 Steps to the Istanbul State Theatre stage and narrated the play Fully Committed there. He won Best Comedy Actor at the 2008 Lions Theatre Awards and shared Most Successful Actor of the Year at the 2011 Sadri Alışık Awards. On television he became known as Çaycı Avni in Yılan Hikayesi, later appearing in Arka Sokaklar, Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, Erşan Kuneri, Maviye Sürgün and Yaratılan, and in films such as 72. Koğuş, Eyyvah Eyvah, Abimm and Süper Ajan K9; he took his first web-series role in BluTV's Dudullu Postası. He hosts his own YouTube programme and works in dubbing. He was married to actress Özge Borak from 2006 to 2010 and to actress Ceyda Düvenci from 2015 to 2023, with whom he has a son, Okan Ali; actor Erkan Kolçak Köstendil is a relative.
