Leyla Everlasting (9 Kere Leyla)

9 Kere Leyla is a 2020 Turkish comedy film directed by Ezel Akay, who also co-wrote the screenplay together with Adnan Yıldırım, Özlem Lale, and Uğur Saatçi.

The story opens with longtime married couple Leyla and Adem, whose relationship has lost its old spark. Adem finds his heart racing again once he becomes infatuated with Nergis, a marriage counselor, and soon can think of nothing else — yet Nergis has no interest in leaving the solitary world she has built for herself to start something new.

Demet Akbağ, Haluk Bilginer, and Elçin Sangu take the leading roles, joined by Fırat Tanış and Alican Yücesoy. Originally slated for a theatrical release, the film was instead sold to Netflix because of the pandemic and reached audiences there on December 4, 2020.
