Şafak Pekdemir — Biography

Born on 19 June 1988 in Istanbul, Şafak Pekdemir is a Turkish stage, film and television actress who graduated from the Acting Department of Beykent University's Faculty of Fine Arts. She first appeared on screen in the 2009 short film Sadist, began her acting career in 2010 with the series Türk Malı, and went on to appear in the series Firar and Şüphe.

She played Nisan in the 2012 series Leyla ile Mecnun, Gizem in the 2014 film İncir Reçeli 2, and İclal in the 2015 series Asla Vazgeçmem, before taking the role of Zeynep in the 2017 film Deli Aşk and a lead role in the 2018 film Deniz ve Güneş. That same year she began playing Zehra Argun, daughter of Halit Argun, in the widely watched series Yasak Elma, followed by the role of Meliha Çelebi in the 2021 series Yalancılar ve Mumları and a part in the 2022 series Senden Daha Güzel.

In her personal life, Pekdemir married lawyer Burak Mengü in December 2017, but the marriage was short-lived: reports in subsequent years said the couple had separated and later divorced.
