Funda Eryiğit — Biography

Funda Eryiğit is a Turkish actress born on November 6, 1984 in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Originally from Samsun and of Circassian and Georgian descent, Eryiğit studied at Istanbul University's Faculty of Political Sciences before graduating from the theatre department of the same university's State Conservatory. She began her screen career in 2008 with the series Canım Ailem.

She became known on television through series such as Uçurum (2012), Eski Hikaye (2013), Karadayı (2014) and Poyraz Karayel (as Eda), and became one of the sought-after names of auteur cinema with the films Limonata (2015), Eksik (2015) and Tereddüt (2016). Her performance as Ruhiye in Bir Başkadır (2020) was highly acclaimed, and she took leading roles in the films Boğa Boğa (2023) and Kül (2024). In 2025 she played Ayşe in the series Ben Onun Annesiyim; she is married to director Berkun Oya.
