Clair Obscur (Tereddüt)
Tereddüt (internationally released as "Clair Obscur") is a 2016 drama film co-produced by Turkey, Germany and Poland, written and directed by Yeşim Ustaoğlu.
The story follows a young female psychiatrist who is reassigned from Istanbul to a small provincial town, where hidden cracks in her own marriage surface just as she becomes drawn into the trauma of a young patient in her care; the two women's stories gradually intertwine.
The film stars Funda Eryiğit, Ecem Uzun, Mehmet Kurtuluş and Okan Yalabık, with Serkan Keskin, Metin Akdülger, Yasemin Çonka, Evren Duyal and Ahmet Rıfat Şungar rounding out the cast. It had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to win several awards at that year's Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, including best film, best director and a best actress prize for Ecem Uzun, earning positive notices from both Turkish and international critics.
