Erhan Emre — Biography
Erhan Emre was born on 4 September 1978 in Berlin, one of eight children in a family that had emigrated from Turkey; his Kurdish family traces its roots to the Hınıs district of Erzurum, and he grew up in Berlin's Kreuzberg district.
He entered cinema in 1997 with Thomas Arslan's film Geschwister (Siblings), and went on to appear in productions including Gran Paradiso and two separate episodes of the Tatort crime series.
Alongside acting, he trained in production at the German Film and Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin, completing the program in 2002, and later moved into directing and screenwriting as well.
He has since appeared in works such as Tough Enough, Kaddisch für einen Freund and Mutlu Kuzular, expanding his Germany-based career to include film production.
