Kaddisch für einen Freund

Kaddisch für einen Freund is a German drama from 2012, directed by Leo Khasin. In Berlin, an elderly Russian-Jewish man, Alexander, and Ali, a young Arab boy who has vandalised his apartment, are thrown together when the boy is made to repair the damage. Out of an initial hostility rooted in old enmities, a hesitant but genuine friendship gradually grows between them. Erhan Emre is among the cast. The film was warmly received for its sensitive treatment of reconciliation across cultural and generational divides.
