Derya Şensoy — Biography

Neriman Derya Şensoy was born on 7 February 1990 in Istanbul into a family steeped in theatre: her father is theatre and film actor Ferhan Şensoy, and her mother is actress and TV host Derya Baykal. The sister of playwright and director Müjgan Ferhan Şensoy, she graduated from Üsküdar American Academy before moving to New York to study illustration and design at Parsons The New School for Design, and later spent a period in England working on jewelry design.

In 2013 she designed the sets and costumes for her father's play Masal Müfettişi and made her television debut the same year in the series Doksanlar. She moved into film in 2014 with Çakallarla Dans 3: Sıfır Sıkıntı, then in 2015 appeared in the film Hesapta Aşk and the series Mayıs Kraliçesi, while also designing the set for, and acting in, her sister's play Pera'daki Hayalet, playing Aybike. In 2016 she featured in the films Deliormanlı, Çakallarla Dans 4 and Vezir Parmağı, and in 2017 in the series Bu Sayılmaz and in her father's play Nereye de Gidiyor Lan Bu Gemi?, remaining active in theatre alongside television and cinema.

In her personal life, Şensoy is in a relationship with actor Yağız Can Konyalı, who proposed to her in December 2025; the couple became engaged in a family ceremony in May 2026 and have said they are planning to marry by the end of the year.
