Deniz Celiloğlu — Biography

Deniz Celiloğlu is a Turkish stage, film and television actor best known for playing Commissioner Selim in the Kanal D series Kanıt and Savaş Biryol in Poyraz Karayel. Born on 19 July 1986 in Razgrad, Bulgaria, to a Bulgarian-Turkish family, he moved to Turkey with his family at age three as part of the 1989 expulsion of ethnic Turks from Bulgaria. He discovered theater at thirteen and graduated from the Theatre Department of the State Conservatory at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He made his film debut in Ev and his television debut in Kanıt, both in 2010; around the same time he married Müge Bayramoğlu, on 12 December 2010, and the couple divorced three years later. He went on to appear in Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Çalıkuşu, O Hayat Benim, Seddülbahir 32 Saat and Gecenin Kraliçesi, then played Yiğit Aslan in Siyah Beyaz Aşk and took a lead role in Keşke Hiç Büyümeseydik. In 2019 he played Captain Faruk in 7. Koğuştaki Mucize, and in 2020 portrayed İsmet İnönü in Ya İstiklal Ya Ölüm. He led the 2023 film Kuru Otlar Üstüne as Samet and appeared in the web series Derin Mor. In 2025 he performed in the play Güneşin Oğlu and joined İlk ve Son, and in 2026 he joined the cast of İstanbul Hatırası.
