Cengiz Coşkun — Biography

Cengiz Coşkun was born on 29 April 1982 in Istanbul to a Turkish family that had immigrated from Bulgaria. He took up basketball early in secondary school, played seven years for Ülkerspor, then Erdemir Ereğli Spor and a year at Balıkesir DSİ Spor, graduating in 2008 from Marmara University's Sports Academy coaching program.

He placed third in the 2002 Best Model contest, which took him to the World's Most Handsome Man pageant in London, placing fourth worldwide and also taking the best photo model and best physique titles. After entering television in 2005 with Rüzgarlı Bahçe, he trained under Şahika Tekand and went on to appear in Nehir, Candan Öte, and Doktorlar.

Fetih 1453 (2012) marked a turning point: his part as Byzantine commander Giovanni Giustiniani brought wide recognition. That same year he played special-forces officer Tuğrul Tümen in Dağ, and in 2013 competed on Survivor: Ünlüler-Gönüllüler in Panama, voted out on day 94.

Cast in Diriliş: Ertuğrul when it launched on TRT 1 in 2014, he spent five seasons as Turgut Alp, one of Ertuğrul Gazi's closest men, later carrying the role into Kuruluş Osman. He played Ali in Çekmeceler (2015) and Sultan Alparslan in Malazgirt 1071 (2022), the same year he married Beatrica Lorena.
