The Mountain (Dağ)

The Mountain (Turkish: Dağ), also known as Forgotten Soldiers, is a 2012 Turkish adventure, drama, and war film directed and written by Alper Çağlar. Released on November 16, 2012, the 90-minute film was produced by Mars Entertainment Group. Its story follows Oğuz, a young man from Istanbul who chooses short-term military service out of principle despite having the right and means to opt for paid exemption, and Bekir, a rebellious long-term private whose constant clashes have extended his service.

When a team sent from the unit to repair a field antenna is caught in a terrorist ambush, Oğuz and Bekir emerge as the only survivors. Setting aside their feud, the two soldiers fight the real enemy together, armed with little more than two rifles, four magazines, a broken radio, and their survival instincts. Starring Çağlar Ertuğrul and Ufuk Bayraktar in the lead roles, the film is described as a heroic tale in which two young soldiers discover brotherhood and fortitude.
