Burcu Kara — Biography

Burcu Kara was born on 1 March 1980 in Bursa. She studied economics at Anadolu University in Eskişehir, working as a presenter on local television stations while still a student. After graduating she briefly worked as an investment specialist, but finding the job unfulfilling, she began commuting to Istanbul for diction and broadcasting courses.

She made her acting debut as Duygu in the 2004 series Haziran Gecesi. Roles in O Şimdi Mahkum, Elveda Derken and Dünyayı Kurtaran Adamın Oğlu followed, and she reached a wider audience playing Zeynep in the hit film Romantik Komedi (2010) and its sequel Bekarlığa Veda (2013). Her later credits include Tozlu Yollar, Tatar Ramazan, Milat, Kördüğüm, Keşke Hiç Büyümeseydik, Şuursuz Aşk and Uçuş 811.

Kara was briefly married to actor Buğra Gülsoy before marrying filmmaker and voice-over artist Fırat Parlak, with whom she has a child.
