Ayşegül Ünsal — Biography

Ayşegül Ünsal is a Turkish actress born on 17 August 1973 in Istanbul. A graduate of the Theatre Department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory, she began her stage career at the Yasemin Yalçın Theatre as an assistant director, actress and dancer in the play Beni Biraz Yönetir misin?.

Her television career began in the early 1990s with series such as Yaz Evi and Süper Baba; she went on to appear in Baba Evi (1997), Kuzenlerim (2002) and Gelin (2003). She reprised her character Melek Yazıcı from the series Köprü (2006) in the film Vali (2009). She won lasting recognition as Hasibe in ATV's popular series Aşk ve Mavi (2016), then played Akınay Hatun in Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu (2021) and Feride in Yabani (2023). In 2025 she joined the cast of Show TV's series Veliaht, and in June 2026 she made headlines again with her recollections of her Süper Baba days.
