Ayda Aksel — Biography

Ayda Aksel (born October 31, 1962, in Istanbul) is a Turkish theatre, film and television actress. She learned ballet and cello at the conservatory and graduated from the theatre department of Mimar Sinan University. She spent many years with the State Theatres, also appeared at the Sadri Alışık Theatre and voiced numerous commercials.

She first appeared on screen in the 1983 series Üç İstanbul. In cinema she portrayed Halide Edip Adıvar in Cumhuriyet (1998); Sınav (2006), Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever (2011) and Mandıra Filozofu (2014) are among her best-known films. After series such as Kördüğüm (2016), she won wide acclaim as Azize Aslanbey in Hercai (2019). She played Fazilet Saruhanlı in Baba (2022) and Mediha Paşazade in Kıskanmak (2025); that same year she appeared on stage with Alina Boz in Çağan Irmak's first play, Palamut Zamanı.
