Utku Ateş — Biography

Utku Ateş was born in April 1990 in İstanbul; sources give his birthday as either 19 April or 2 April. He completed his schooling in İstanbul and graduated from the Cinema and Television Department of Bahçeşehir University, where he also went on to study advertising for a time. He trained as an actor in the basic acting workshop of Akademi 35,5 and at Craft Atölye, and he speaks English, Korean and Spanish.

He first appeared on screen in 2014 in the Star TV series Kurt Seyit ve Şura, and in the same year had a part in the film Pek Yakında. Commercials for brands such as Anadolu Hayat, Turkcell, Algida, Beko and Paşabahçe helped make his face familiar. After the series Çilek Kokusu, Aile İşi and Hayat Sırları, he played the tour guide Sinan in Ege'nin Hamsisi in 2018 and also appeared in Jet Sosyete. In early 2019 he joined the cast of Erkenci Kuş, and later that year he was part of Kuzgun.

He reached a wider audience as Serdar in the series Gönül Dağı. In 2021 he played İskender in Cam Tavanlar, and in 2022 Mert Biçer in Hayat Bugün, also joining the cast of Kasaba Doktoru. He took to the stage in the play Gece Diyarı, which premiered in January 2025.
