Ufuk Kaplan — Biography
Born on 1 October 1972 in Istanbul's Beykoz district, and originally from Yalova, Ufuk Kaplan graduated from the theatre department of the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center and had her first on-screen role in 2002 in the series En Son Babalar Duyar. She became widely known for the character Katya, whom she played in Aşk-ı Memnu between 2008 and 2010. She went on to appear in Nuri, Kirli Oyunlar, and Yaseminli Yuva (2011), Bizim Okul and Hayat Dediğin (2013), and Gölgedekiler (2014), before making her film debut in 2016 with Berzah Cin Alemi.
In 2017 she joined the TRT 1 period drama Payitaht Abdülhamid as the character Ester, and continued her career with Yasak Elma in 2020, Yazgı in 2022-2023, Kirli Sepeti and the film Karanlıktan Kaçış in 2024, Kuma in 2025, and the character Leyla in Can Bağı in 2025-2026. Many years after Aşk-ı Memnu, she returned to public attention through her Katya role, with her changed appearance drawing wide coverage in the entertainment press.
