Shock Troops

Shock Troops (original title Un homme de trop) is a 1967 French-Italian drama film directed by Costa-Gavras. Adapted from Jean-Pierre Chabrol's autobiographical 1958 novel of the same name, it follows a French Resistance unit fighting against the Nazi occupation during the Second World War. Michel Piccoli plays the 'extra man' whose arrival within the group stirs tension and distrust. The cast also includes Jean-Claude Brialy, Bruno Cremer, Jacques Perrin, Gérard Blain, Claude Brasseur and Charles Vanel. Producer Harry Saltzman received a 'presented by' credit, and the film was entered into the competition of the 5th Moscow International Film Festival.
