Le Concert (Paris'te Son Konser)

Le Concert is a 2009 French-Belgian-Russian comedy-drama directed by Radu Mihaileanu. Andrei Filipov was once the celebrated conductor of the Bolshoi orchestra, but during the Soviet era he was dismissed and his career destroyed after he refused to remove the Jewish musicians from his ensemble. Thirty years later, now reduced to a lowly existence, he seizes an unexpected opportunity: a concert in Paris needs an orchestra, and Filipov decides to reunite his former musicians and pose as the Bolshoi Philharmonic. The ragtag group travels from Moscow to Paris for a single performance, but Filipov has another, deeply personal reason for the trip. He is determined to meet the young woman who will appear as their solo violinist, a meeting tied to dark secrets from his past. Meanwhile, the real Bolshoi is hot on their trail. Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major anchors the film's climactic final scene. The film won the César Awards for Best Music Written for a Film and Best Sound in 2010 and was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 68th Golden Globe Awards.
