The Great Role

The Great Role (original title Le Grand Rôle) is a French comedy film directed by Steve Suissa and released in 2004. Set around the world of acting and the theatre, it follows a story in which friendship and stage ambitions intertwine in the life of an actor.

The cast is led by Stéphane Freiss and Bérénice Bejo, with François Berléand, Lionel Abelanski and Rufus in supporting roles; American actor Peter Coyote also appears. Written by Daniel Cohen, the film runs about 89 minutes and opened in French cinemas in October 2004. Blending humour with more emotional moments, it offers a warm look at the ups and downs of an actor's life and the bonds between colleagues.
