Movie · 1954 · 4 people

Papa, maman, la bonne et moi (English: Papa, Mama, the Maid and I) is a 1954 French comedy directed by Jean-Paul Le Chanois. Expanded from a sketch by Robert Lamoureux, the film portrays an ordinary French family living in a Montmartre apartment building, following their everyday dealings with neighbours, local shopkeepers and the household maid. Robert Lamoureux heads the cast alongside Gaby Morlay, Fernand Ledoux and Nicole Courcel, while Louis de Funès appears in a supporting part. Released in 1954, the picture was followed two years later by a sequel, Papa, maman, ma femme et moi, and the two comedies were subsequently adapted for the stage. The film was also distributed in the Soviet Union in a dubbed version, making it the first Louis de Funès film to reach Soviet cinemas.
