La Tour, prends garde ! is a 1958 French-Italian swashbuckling adventure film directed by Georges Lampin. The story is set during the Seven Years' War, at the time when Louis XV of France faced Maria Theresa of Austria. A travelling actor, Henri La Tour, takes on powerful enemies in order to rescue an orphaned girl who has been stripped of a substantial inheritance. Jean Marais stars in the leading role, with Eleonora Rossi Drago, Nadja Tiller and Cathia Caro among the supporting cast. Written by Claude Accursi, the film was released internationally under several alternative titles, including King on Horseback in the United States and Killer Spy in English-language markets, while in West Germany it appeared as Des Königs bester Mann.
