Kolah Ghermezi and Pesar Khaleh

Kolah Ghermezi and Pesar Khaleh is a 1995 Iranian comedy directed by Iraj Tahmasb, built around Kolah Ghermezi (Red Hat), a puppet character who had become hugely popular in Iran in the early 1990s. The screenplay was co-written by Tahmasb together with Hamid Jebelli and Homayoun As'adian.

Hamid Jebelli provided the lead voice performance, while Donya Fannizadeh served as the senior puppeteer. The on-screen cast includes Farrokhlagha Houshmand, Hamideh Kheirabadi, Mehri Mehrnia and Morteza Ahmadi.

The picture enjoyed an exceptionally long theatrical life in Iran, screening for around five years and drawing more than six million viewers, which placed it among the most-watched releases in the history of Iranian cinema.
