Kilometer Zero (Kilomètre Zéro) (translated)

Kilomètre Zéro is a 2005 war drama written and directed by Kurdish filmmaker Hiner Saleem, produced as a joint Iraqi-French-Finnish project with dialogue in Arabic, French and Kurdish. Running 91 minutes, it became the first Iraqi production selected for the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

The cast is led by Nazmi Kırık and Belçim Bilgin. Its title, French for "kilometer zero," refers to the reference point from which distances across a country are measured, a metaphor the film applies to Kurdish identity amid Iraq's wartime turmoil.
