The Karadağ Family (Karadağlar) (translated)

Karadağlar is a Turkish television drama that premiered on Show TV in 2010. The production reimagines Fyodor Dostoyevsky's celebrated novel The Brothers Karamazov in a loose, localized adaptation.

The story unfolds in the fictional village of Payidar in 1930s Türkiye, when the economic hardship of the Great Depression was still being felt across the country. At the heart of the narrative stand the strained relations between Halit Karadağ, a powerful landowner, and his sons, along with the rivalry and conflict simmering among the brothers themselves. The series also lays bare the class divide separating the region's wealthy landowners from its impoverished villagers.

The ensemble features Erdal Özyağcılar, İbrahim Çelikkol, Ahmet Rıfat Şungar, Korel Cezayirli, Yeliz Akkaya, and Alara Bozbey in the principal roles.
