Hawaii Five-0
Hawaii Five-0 is an American police action drama developed for CBS as a contemporary reboot of the classic series that originally ran from 1968 to 1980. The story follows Steve McGarrett, a decorated Navy officer turned detective, who returns to Oahu to investigate the murder of his father. At the urging of Hawaii's governor, he stays on to lead a new elite task force that answers directly to the governor and operates with broad authority and no bureaucratic red tape in its pursuit of the islands' most dangerous criminals.
McGarrett's team includes Danny "Danno" Williams, a relocated New Jersey detective determined to keep the island safe for his young daughter; Chin Ho Kelly, a former Honolulu detective wrongly accused of corruption; and Chin's cousin Kono Kalakaua, a fearless rookie officer. Later seasons added coroner Dr. Max Bergman, Captain Lou Grover, and conspiracy-minded consultant Jerry Ortega. The series premiered on September 20, 2010 — exactly 42 years after the original — and ran for ten seasons and 240 episodes, concluding with a two-hour finale on April 3, 2020. It also shared crossover episodes with MacGyver, Magnum P.I., and NCIS: Los Angeles.
