Son of the Sun (Güneşin Oğlu)

Son of the Sun is a 2008 Turkish black comedy film written and directed by Onur Ünlü. Shooting began on 5 September 2008 and was completed in just about ten days. The story follows Fikri Şemsigil, a man who spends his whole life waiting for a miracle. When the miracle finally arrives and he learns that he is the 'Son of the Sun', his life turns upside down instead of improving. As his soul begins slipping in and out of the bodies of people around him, events spiral out of control, and he must find a way to escape the very miracle he longed for.

The film stars Haluk Bilginer, Özgü Namal, Hümeyra, Köksal Engür and Bülent Emin Yarar, with Ahmet Kural, Ferit Kaya and Tansu Biçer also appearing in the cast. The production carries the hallmarks of the director's absurdist storytelling and dark sense of humor.
