Flatfoot in Africa

Piedone l'africano (shown abroad as Flatfoot in Africa or Knock-Out Cop) is a 1978 Italian-West German crime comedy helmed by Steno with Bud Spencer in the lead. It forms the third installment of a four-part cycle centered on Naples police inspector Manuele Rizzo, known as "Flatfoot," and his aide Caputo, arriving after Flatfoot and Flatfoot in Hong Kong and ahead of Flatfoot in Egypt. In this outing Rizzo heads to South Africa to probe the connection between diamond smuggling and narcotics trafficking, and his inquiry ultimately reveals the route by which drugs are brought into Italy. Shot from November 1977 to January 1978, the film premiered in West German theaters on 30 June 1978 and was honored with the Goldene Leinwand award for its strong ticket sales.
