Movie · 1954 · 4 people

Cadet Rousselle is a 1954 French comedy-adventure film directed by André Hunebelle, with François Périer, Dany Robin and Madeleine Lebeau in the leading roles. The picture borrows its title from a well-known traditional French song and belongs to the swashbuckler tradition, treating the cloak-and-sword genre with a light, humorous touch.

Shot in Eastmancolor, the production was based at the Francoeur Studios in Paris, with additional filming around Nemours, Saint-Yon and Égreville, where the opening and closing scenes were made. Art director Lucien Carré designed the sets. The film proved a major popular success in its home country, drawing around four million admissions in France.
