Released in 1962, this French-Italian co-production is a comedy mystery crime film directed by Édouard Molinaro. Rather than adapting any single novel, its screenplay draws inspiration from the adventures of Maurice Leblanc's celebrated gentleman thief, centering on the rivalry between two sons of Arsène Lupin. The cast is headed by Jean-Claude Brialy, Jean-Pierre Cassel and Françoise Dorléac. Shooting took place at the Billancourt Studios in Paris as well as at various locations around the city, with sets created by art director Robert Clavel.
