Ace of Aces (L'As des as)

Ace of Aces, known in France as L'As des as, is a 1982 French-German action comedy. In Germany it is called Das As der Asse, and some English-language listings give the alternate title The Super Ace. Gérard Oury directed the film and wrote the screenplay with Danièle Thompson. Jean-Paul Belmondo stars as Jo Cavalier; the film was shot in French, produced by Gaumont, and runs 96 minutes.

It was a huge public success on release. In France it reached five and a half million spectators, which makes it Belmondo's second-biggest box-office result after The Brain. Alongside Belmondo the cast includes Marie-France Pisier, Rachid Ferrache, Benno Sterzenbach, Florent Pagny, Günter Meisner, Jean-Roger Milo, Yves Pignot, Jacqueline Noëlle and Maurice Auzel.
