Kenan Pars — Biography
Kenan Pars, whose birth name was Kirkor Cezveciyan, was born on 10 March 1920 in Istanbul and died there on 10 March 2008. Of Armenian descent, he worked as an actor and director across theatre, film and television. Over a career running from 1953 into the 2000s he appeared in more than one hundred films, becoming one of Turkish Yeşilçam cinema's most remembered performers for his tough, villainous character roles. He appeared in films including Öldüren Şehir, They Paid With Their Blood, Mualla, Şafakta Buluşalım, Adalet and Sis, and in his later years also took on roles in television series alongside his film work. Frequently remembered in the press around the anniversary of his death, Pars is regarded as one of the defining character actors of classic-era Turkish cinema.
