Gülenay Kalkan — Biography

Gülenay Kalkan is a Turkish theatre and television actress, born on 26 April 1959 in Ankara. At the age of 14 she entered the Theatre Department of the Ankara State Conservatory, where she completed the advanced theatre program, and went on to work at the Ankara State Theatre and the İstanbul State Theatre.

She made her television debut in 2002 with the series Herşey Aşk İçin, and appeared in series such as Estağfurullah Yokuşu (2003), Sır Gibi (2007), Mazi Kalbimde Yaradır (2011) and Bugünün Saraylısı (2013). In 2016 she became widely known for her role as Cahide in the series Anne, and the same year she also acted in Kalbim Yangın Yeri. The actress, who brought her long stage experience to the screen, is married to Tarık Ünlüoğlu.
