Esra Dermancıoğlu — Biography

Esra Dermancıoğlu, born Esra Altınay on 7 December 1968 in Istanbul, is a Turkish television and film actress. After graduating from Pierre Loti High School, she studied drama at Boston University and art history at Franklin College in Switzerland; on her return she trained in acting at Şahika Tekand's Studio Players. She began her professional career in 2008 with the series Sen Harikasın, but her real fame came with the role of Mukaddes Ketenci in Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne? (2010). She played Zehra in Kırgın Çiçekler (2015) and Cennet Hatun in Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem (2015), and appeared in the films Kadın İşi: Banka Soygunu (2014) and Ayla (2017). In later years she featured in the series Bir Zamanlar Çukurova (2018), Kaderimin Oyunu (2021) and Hudutsuz Sevda (2023), and in 2026 she signed on for the series Anne Yarısı.
