Erol Babaoğlu — Biography

Erol Babaoğlu was born on 22 June 1977 in Istanbul and graduated from Cağaloğlu Anadolu High School before completing a degree in Public Relations at Istanbul University's Faculty of Communication. He took his real first step into acting in the late 1990s, training under Şahika Tekand at Stüdyo Oyuncuları, and went on to perform with the Istanbul City Theatre and the Theatre Research Laboratory, working alongside figures such as Beklan Algan, Mehmet Ulusoy and Theodoros Terzopoulos.

He made his film debut in Zeki Demirkubuz's Yazgı and went on to appear in productions such as Mutluluk, Zincirbozan, Araf and Kurak Günler, earning supporting-actor honours at more than one festival for his roles in Daire and Kurak Günler. Equally active on television, Babaoğlu reached a wide audience in 2026 playing Ölü Yaşar in Kanal D's Eşref Rüya, the same year he also appeared in the HBO Max series Kaosun Anatomisi.
