Ediz Hun — Biography
Ediz Hun was born on November 20, 1940, in Istanbul to a Circassian father and a Turkish mother. After finishing St. George's Austrian High School, he studied biology and environmental science in Norway, at the universities of Oslo and Trondheim.
He began acting in 1963 and quickly became one of the leading figures of Yeşilçam cinema, appearing in well over a hundred films. He is remembered for roles in Güllü (1971-72), Güllü Geliyor Güllü (1973), Karateci Kız (1973), Tatlı Meleğim (1970), Sabah Yıldızı (1968) and Garip Kuş (1974), and returned to the screen playing himself in Arif V 216 (2018). Alongside his film career, he was elected to parliament for the Motherland Party (Anavatan Partisi) in the late 1990s and later received the Golden Orange Lifetime Achievement Award.
Now past 85, Hun has remained a public presence in 2026, marking his 53rd wedding anniversary with his wife and speaking to the press about loneliness as one of the greatest challenges of old age.
