Eda Özerkan — Biography

Eda Özerkan is an actress who moved from modelling and presenting into acting, and is remembered above all for playing Elif in the series Aşk-ı Memnu. In 2008 she played Behlül's fiancée in the adaptation of Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil's novel. She still works in film and television; one of her recent films is Sırrını Biliyorum (2024).

Born in Adana, Özerkan studied painting and dance while attending Kadıköy Anadolu Vocational High School. She signed with an agency and worked as a model at home and abroad, appeared in commercials and music videos, and acted in the videos for Tarkan's Dudu and Hakan Peker's Veda Busesi. In 2002 she became one of Ejder's Pearls on Beyaz Show, and in 2003 she worked as a VJ at Kral TV. She took acting lessons at Ekol Drama in 2007. She entered cinema with Osman Sınav's Pars: Kiraz Operasyonu and drew attention with Girdap (2008). After Aşk-ı Memnu she shared the lead with Erol Sander in the Turkish-German co-production İstanbul'u Ölesiye Sevmek, and also appeared in the series Adanalı and Firar.

In March 2014 she competed in the celebrity team of Survivor and was voted out on day 17. Kertenkele, Bir Küçük Gün Işığı (as Feraye) and Sırrını Biliyorum followed. In 2016 she married Timur Acar, with whom she also appeared in Kertenkele; the couple have two daughters.
