Daniela Giordano — Biography

Daniela Giordano was one of the memorable faces of Italian exploitation cinema in the late 1960s and 1970s. She first became known through beauty contests, then appeared in some forty films across genres from comedy and crime to giallo and spaghetti westerns. Find a Place to Die, The Five Man Army and Violent Rome are among the main titles of that period.

She won local beauty contests in Palermo; after being named Miss Sicilia in 1966 she took the Miss Italia crown, and the next year she finished second at Miss Europe. She reached the screen in 1967 with Marcello Ciorciolini's comedy I barbieri di Sicilia, starring Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia. Over the following decade she appeared in Sexy Susan Sins Again, I See Naked, Challenge of the McKennas, Four Times that Night, Reflections in Black and L'adolescente, and alongside her Italian work she also took part in the Turkish film Kara Murat Şeyh Gaffar'a Karşı.

She retired from cinema in 1980 and made a brief return in 2015 for Valentina Gebbia's Erba Celeste and for Help Me Have No Human Ways. She died on 16 December 2022 in her native Palermo.
