Burak Deniz — Biography

Burak Deniz, born on February 17, 1991 in Istanbul, is a Turkish actor and model who spent his childhood in Izmit. He studied Art History at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and began his screen career in 2011 with the series Kolej Günlüğü (College Diary); he subsequently appeared in youth series such as Medcezir and Tatlı Küçük Yalancılar (Sweet Little Liars) (2015).

The actor, who made his real breakthrough in 2016 with the character Murat Sarsılmaz in the romantic comedy Aşk Laftan Anlamaz, played Mert Alkan in Gecenin Kraliçesi that same year; and solidified his fame with the character Barış Aktan, whom he portrayed in the series Bizim Hikaye in 2017, where he shared the lead role with Hazal Kaya. In 2017, he was awarded the best television actor award by Adnan Menderes University.

Deniz, who played Ozan in the film Arada (2018) and Semih in the Netflix production Kal (2022), took on the role of Celal Kün in the Maraşlı series in 2021; Maran in the Netflix series Şahmaran in 2023, and Kenan Öztürk in the murder mystery Bambaşka Biri. Continuing his career with the film Umami and the series Sahtekarlar in 2025, the actor is considered one of the most watched leading men of his generation.
