Shahmaran (Şahmaran)

Şahmaran is a Turkish Netflix series directed by Umur Turagay and written by Pınar Bulut, produced by Tims&B Productions. Blending fantasy, drama, adventure, and thriller elements, the series premiered on 20 January 2023 and ran for two seasons of eight and six episodes; the second season arrived on 8 August 2024.

The story follows Şahsu, a psychology lecturer from Istanbul who travels to Adana and decides to confront the grandfather who abandoned her mother years earlier. Her journey draws her into the Mar, a mysterious community devoted to the ancient legend of Shahmaran and awaiting the fulfillment of an old prophecy. When her path crosses with Maran's, her life is transformed beyond recognition. Serenay Sarıkaya and Burak Deniz share the lead roles.
